Schumer: Dems will be Watching State of the Union to See if Trump Changes Course on Infrastructure Funding

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Democrats will be watching President Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday night to see how the president intends to fund a comprehensive infrastructure package.

“The president faces a choice: The hard right doesn’t want him to expend federal resources, but to effectively rebuild our nation’s infrastructure, he must,” Schumer wrote in an opinion piece for The Washington Post.

Trump is widely expected to tout the state of the economy after his first year in office, and lay out details of an infrastructure plan to rehab and rebuild the nation’s roads, railways and bridges.
