ID: FAA Forms Shed Light on Willis Airport

A controversial airport being built in Camas County by actor Bruce Willis could have a concrete surface, high-intensity runway lights and up to 500 aircraft landings each month, according to documents filed with the FAA.

The airport specifications listed in the form, an FAA 7480 form giving notice of new airport construction, stand at odds with Camas County leaders, who largely support finishing the partially constructed airport and have maintained that it would be lightly used and have minimal impact on surrounding residents. But the information comes as validation for residents who staunchly oppose the airport. They say this proves what they’ve known all along, that the airport, although privately owned, would be home to robust operations.
