Hilton Head Island, SC—Baldwin Aviation, the world’s leading provider of unique, customized and fully-supported safety management and operational efficiency systems for aviation, ground and maritime applications, has named Carolyn Marino Director of Global Sales. Ms. Marino joins Baldwin after 20 years with Associated Aircraft Group (AAG) in Danbury, Connecticut. An experienced sales and marketing executive, she was instrumental in the development of the Sikorsky Shares program after Sikorsky acquired Associated Aircraft in 2006.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Carolyn to the Baldwin team,” said Don Baldwin, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Baldwin Aviation. “She brings exceptional knowledge of the rotary wing segment of business aviation and a history of exemplary support and loyal customer relationships built over two decades with an outstanding or-ganization. She definitely extends our contact with the helicopter community.”

A graduate of Berkeley College in White Plains, New York, Ms. Marino began her career at Trintex, a collaboration among IBM, Sears and Prodigy Service Companies before moving to Associated Aircraft at the Duchess County Airport in Danbury, Connecticut in June of 1996. Starting as a part-time employee, she demonstrated obvious talent in promoting the business, eventually assuming the position of full-time marketing manager, adding sales responsibilities and earning a promotion to director of sales and marketing.

With the acquisition by Sikorsky in 2006, she applied her talent for marketing and customer relations to the development of the industry’s first helicopter fractional sales program, Sikorsky Shares, and has played a leading role in the highly successful venture ever since. Associated Aircraft Group operates the largest fleet of Sikorsky S-76 heli-copters in the Northeast US and has retained them throughout the years. “I was very privileged to be involved in the Sikorsky Shares program and with our customers over the years,” Ms. Marino noted. “And, while Baldwin Aviation is a different business with a focus on Safety Management Systems and operational efficiencies rather than fractional ownership, those are aspects of customer relationships that I have dealt with throughout my career and I’m truly excited to be a part of this organization.

“When I decided I wanted to relocate from the Northeast to the South I definitely wanted to stay in aviation. This opportunity is really ideal. It focuses on safety, which is such an important element of aviation, and it allows me to leverage my experience and network to help Baldwin expand its reach even more effectively into the rotary wing segment. This is a great opportunity,” she said.
