NASHVILLE - The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) today announced during its July board meeting that Nashville International Airport (BNA) exceeded 10 million passengers for fiscal year (FY) 2013 (July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013). This marks only the second time in BNA history to achieve 10 million passengers; the first being in 1993 at the peak of the American Airlines hub.

“This marks a milestone for Nashville International Airport,” Rob Wigington, president and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, said. “We are once again seeing numbers we haven’t seen since before the departure of the American Airlines hub in 1996. This underscores Nashville’s thriving economy and vibrant tourism market making Music City the destination of choice for so many.”

The total number of passengers travelling through BNA in FY 2013 was 10,064,661, a 3.1 percent increase from FY 2012.  In the past 12 months, Nashville International Airport has announced 14 additional nonstop flights to New York LaGuardia, Los Angeles, Cleveland, Newark, Pittsburgh, Pensacola, Boston and Athens, Ga.

Nashville International Airport is currently served by 10 airlines and offers 380 daily arriving and departing flights. Nashville International provides nonstop air service to 49 markets. Visit www.flynashville.com for more information.
