A new aviation hangar, designed for large and medium-sized aircraft, is nearing completion at Pocono Mountains Municipal Airport (MPO) - a Phillips 66 Aviation-branded dealer that is part of the World Fuel Services Network.

Featuring radiant-heated floors - ideal for winter-bound sports enthusiasts - and other amenities, the 14,000 square foot hangar is set to open in late December. Pilots will be able to store larger aircraft in a weather-tight, temperature-comfortable building near many of the Pocono Mountain's popular recreational attractions and businesses.

Pocono Mountains Municipal Airport recently remodeled its pilots lounge to add a host of amenities. When the new hangar opens, both facilities will provide an enhanced experience for pilots, who can access a crew car while waiting for their passengers, says Airport Manager Rich Kuban.

The airport has also widened and extended their longest runway to 5,001 feet, in order to accommodate most aircraft.

"We're building for the future," says Kuban.

In 2011, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) named Pocono Mountains Municipal Airport as general aviation Airport of the Year for the FAA's Eastern Region. The fixed base operator also participates in the WingPoints Rewards Card program, rewarding fuel purchases with points that can be immediately redeemed online for debit or gift cards.
