Barfield launches a new Split-Screen PDF reader feature for its newly released tablet app specifically designed for its DPS1000/1811NG. This Split-Screen PDF reader allows the user to open and display a downloaded PDF document

Miami, Florida – 17 October, 2017 – Barfield, an Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) company, launches a new Split-Screen PDF reader feature for its newly released tablet app specifically designed for its DPS1000/1811NG. This Split-Screen PDF reader allows the user to open and display a downloaded PDF document, whether it be the aircraft test procedure or the unit’s Instruction Manual, while operating the Air Data testers. This reduces the need to carry out paper procedures to the aircraft.

Barfield has also improved the previously released patented firmware upgrade process of the DPS1000/1811NG from the tablet app. The One-Click firmware upgrade feature streamlines the process and prompts the user in a single step to update the PCM and HUIM to the latest version available on the tablet app.

“Enhancing customer’s experience and maximizing efficiency remains a priority for Barfield’s Research and Development team,” says Lew Wingate, Vice President, Ground Support Test Equipment (GSTE) & Distribution. For him “added features, bug fixes and interface changes will continuously keep the DPS1000/1811NG and its tablet app at the forefront of the Air Data tester customer experience, setting it apart from the competition.”

From merely a remote control function to an innovative interactive tool with endless capabilities, Barfield tablet app’s journey has been gratifying. In addition to the above mentioned features, it has gone through numerous improvements, including the visual and audible indication when a test point is reached, the Cabin Pressure test procedure and the Inlet Barrier Filter (IBF) alert system. Customers always seem eager to use these enhancements as they make their jobs easier and straightforward.

The tablet app wirelessly connects to the Air Data tester and can automatically detect the internal firmware version of the unit. It then proceeds with a quick, simple and seamless upgrade process if the firmware embedded in the DPS1000/1811NG is outdated.

The app comes loaded with the latest firmware and is available to download through Apple App store and Android App store.

The RVSM certified DPS1000 and its sister the 1811NG are both user-friendly and perform altimeter and static systems tests and inspections on a wide range of aircraft. Both test sets can be fully operated either from their display touch screen or from the tablet app.

Innovation and customer’s satisfaction will continue to be the driving force behind the development and implementation of Barfield ADTS app new features, making it of the only multitasking remote control in the GSTE market and the aviation industry.
