The ribbon is cut, and the burgers are cooking at the Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport. During a Grand Opening celebration today, airport leaders publicly welcomed a fast-food icon to the BHM terminal. Burger King is the eighth restaurant operating at the terminal and is already proving to be a big hit with customers. The food and beverage concessions at BHM are operated by global restaurateur HMSHost, a world leader in creating dining for travel venues.

“HMSHost is overjoyed to bring Burger King to Birmingham travelers,” said Vice President of Business Development Tosin Kasali. “We are proud to be part of Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport and are thankful for our partnership to enhance the travel dining experience.”

The addition of Burger King comes at a crucial time for the airport. Still recovering from the impact of the pandemic, BHM is committed to making improvements that will give passengers more reasons to choose to fly out of their local airport.

“This is another step toward assuring that this airport offers what passengers want and need when they travel,” said Darlene Wilson, Board Chair of the Birmingham Airport Authority. “And we’re not done yet!”

In recent months, BHM has undergone a series of improvements aimed at enhancing the overall customer experience. From new seating in the gates with power outlets at every chair to refurbished jet bridges and now another food choice, BHM is working to add to and improve on what is offered here.

The new Burger King is in Concourse C right next to Starbucks. The hours of operation are from 5am to 7pm, seven days a week.
