TAG Farnborough Airport News Update
TAG Farnborough Airport is the UK’s only dedicated business aviation airport and a key gateway to London. The airport offers bespoke services as well as state-of-the-art facilities and continues to set new standards in the business aviation market.
Enhanced airport experience
TAG Farnborough Airport has invested an additional £1 million to create more space for passengers and crew at its terminal building. Development of its award-winning infrastructure includes a new lounge, accommodating up to 80 passengers, offering unique views of the airfield from a gallery seating area. Other distinctive features include a “TopBrewer” coffee machine which can be operated via an iPad provided, as well as a fuselage clock, coffee table and exhaust lamp custom made from vintage aircraft parts.
Sophie Lesnoff, TAG Farnborough Airport’s Head of Customer Services and Terminal Operations, who designed the new facilities, commented: “At TAG Farnborough Airport, we focus on delivering bespoke services for the business aviation market. With an emerging demand for higher-volume business aviation flights, the new passenger lounge enables us to accommodate larger groups of passengers and corporate events, whilst ensuring the privacy and comfort of individuals or small groups.”
The airport has also introduced additional crew facilities such as a quiet lounge and ‘snooze’ room equipped with flat beds and a zero-gravity ergonomic chair, as well as a complimentary gymnasium and shower facilities in a separate building adjacent to the main terminal.
TAG Farnborough Airport offers a wide range of amenities including a fast-track entrance to the airport for the exclusive use of passengers and crew, direct ramp access for passengers wanting to drive up to waiting jets, concierge service, conference rooms and Aviator luxury hotel conveniently located on site.
Ongoing increase in demand
TAG Farnborough Airport is a growing business aviation airport and continues to receive more airliner-derived aircraft (50-80 tons maximum take-off weight) such as Boeing Business Jets and Airbus Corporate Jets. In the first months of 2016, the airport has seen a 5% increase (compared to the same period in 2015) in air traffic movements in this aircraft category. Many of these aircraft operate to and from Asia, the Middle East and the US, with some carrying larger groups of passengers.
“We are well placed to take advantage of the increasing demand and continue to invest in our facilities to cater for larger aircraft, holding our position as the airport of choice when travelling through London for business”, said Brandon O’Reilly, CEO at TAG Farnborough Airport.
A leader in the business aviation market
TAG Farnborough Airport has earned top honours in the annual Aviation International News (AIN) International FBO Survey for 2016 and was named ‘Best European FBO’ in the 2016 Pro Pilot PRASE Survey for the eleventh year in a row.
“These results are a tribute to the dedication of all our employees at Farnborough,” commented O’Reilly. “With an additional investment of £1 million upgrading our terminal facilities recently, our focus continues to be on delivering the highest standard of service for passengers and crew.”
TAG Farnborough Airport has also recently achieved accreditation to the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH), a global code of best safety practices.
Developing the airport responsibly
TAG Farnborough Airport has been certified to the internationally recognised ISO 14001 standard for its commitment to environmental management in 2015. ISO 14001 is an international standard that sets out requirements for an effective environment management system. It is designed to help businesses, including airports, evaluate and reduce the environmental impact of their operations.
“Developing the airport responsibly has always been important to us. We are pleased to have achieved this internationally recognised certification for the environment management system we have developed and implemented,” said Miles Thomas, Environment Manager at TAG Farnborough Airport.
