United Airlines to Serve Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH) Year-Round

Sept. 20, 2021
Seasonal nonstop service between HHH and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) will be daily, year-round service.

United Airlines has expanded its seasonal nonstop service between the Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to daily, year-round service. In addition, United will continue to provide seasonal flight options between HHH and other United cities.

Passengers flying the service between HHH and IAD will get to experience United’s new CRJ-550 – the world’s first 50-seat aircraft with two cabins. The CRJ-550 is equipped with 10 First Class seats, 20 Economy Plus seats, 20 standard Economy seats, Wi-Fi, more leg room and enough overhead bin space for every customer to bring a roller bag onboard.

Over the last three years, United Airlines has increased the number of destinations served at HHH, the size of their aircraft, and the duration of their seasonal markets.  This move to serve the island, year-round will make it even easier to fly right to "America’s Favorite Island," throughout the entire year. “It is exciting to see United Airlines extending this seasonal route to year-round service. Washington Dulles (IAD) has been a successful market for the Hilton Head Island Airport. Having this nonstop flight year-round will provide travelers convenient access to the Washington, D.C. area and continued United Airlines access through countless one-stop connections,” stated Jon Rembold, airports director. The move to year-round options on United Airlines enhances the ability of area travelers to utilize their local airport and provide new options for those wishing to visit Hilton Head Island.  For both Beaufort County residents and Hilton Head Island visitors, the increased access to nonstop flights means an even easier travel experience.

“We’re thrilled to increase to daily, year-round service between Washington Dulles and Hilton Head,” said Eddie L. Gordon, Jr., managing director of United’s IAD hub. “We welcome the opportunity to serve our customers traveling to and from Hilton Head as they reconnect with family and friends and the moments that matter most.”
