The Sacramento International Airport is continuing to resume nonstop routes with a new Volaris flight from Sacramento to Mexico City. Tickets are available today on www.volaris.com.
The flight links the capital cities of California and Mexico. Mexico City is not only the country’s business and political center but also a cosmopolitan city that brings together colonial-era history with a buzzing modern city. Mexico City may be best known for exceptional culinary options – from street food to fine dining – and vibrant arts and culture. The historic Zócalo is the heart of old city while incredible sights like Xochimilco, “the Venice of Mexico,” and the artistic neighborhood of San Ángel are worth exploring.
“We are pleased that Volaris is expanding its offerings out of Sacramento International Airport, which will provide visitors easier access to the Mexican capital for business and to visit friends and family,” said Cindy Nichol, Sacramento County Department of Airports Director. “As we all continue to manage the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport is maintaining its high level of customer service while increasing safety measures to make sure that we provide a safe and reassuring environment for our passengers.”
The route will launch on November 10, 2020. The new flight will depart SMF on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 12:15 a.m., arriving in MEX at 7:00 a.m. The flights from MEX leave at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays and arrive at SMF at 10:45 p.m. local time.
