Dallas Love Field Carrier JSX Adds Orlando Route, Seasonal Aspen Stop

Dallas-based semi-private carrier JSX will start flying from Dallas Love Field in December and add a winter season flight to Colorado’s Rifle Garfield County Airport, giving more access to beaches and mountains from North Texas.

“Hop-on” jet service is expanding service out of Love Field with daily flights to Orlando International Airport starting Dec. 15. It will start service the next day to Rifle Garfield County Airport in Colorado, about 80 an minute drive to ski destinations Aspen or Vail. JSX also flies from Love Field to Boulder, Colo.

The company is also planning to fly between Orlando and White Plains, N.Y., and Burbank, Calif., to Rifle Garfield starting in December.

JSX uses regional airline-style jets with up to 65 passengers that are configured to serve 30 passengers in an “all-first-class” setup. JSX is permitted to sell scheduled tickets on a charter service but is limited to 30 passengers.

From Dallas, JSX focuses on flights to Houston and Austin as well as Destin and Miami in Florida. It also has flights from Love Field to Burbank and Las Vegas, where it recently expanded service.

“Our new flights to Orlando and Rifle/ Aspen reinforce our commitment to bringing travelers where they most want to go, in the most convenient and hassle-free way possible,” JSX CEO Alex Wilcox said in a statement. “Whether in search of snowy mountains or sun-soaked theme parks, our expanded service provides a better travel option for families, couples, adventure-seekers, friends, and business travelers.

JSX said the flights from Love Field to Orlando will sell for as low as $299 each way and $369 for the Orlando to Colorado flights.

With the Love Field to Orlando flight, JSX will be fighting for a heavily contested route.

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines flies about six roundtrip flights a day between Dallas and Orlando, the ninth busiest route for Southwest out of Love Field for the month of December, according to Diio by Cirium.

Southwest also flies its own seasonal flights to Colorado in the Winter to Hayden ( Yampa Valley Airport) and Montrose Regional, also ski destinations.

JSX’s Dallas to Rifle Garfield County flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays from Dec. 16 to Feb. 16.
