With a nor’easter expected to bring up to two feet of snow to Massachusetts this weekend, airlines have already canceled 412 flights in and out of Logan International Airport on Saturday.
JetBlue, which has the most flights at Logan, has canceled 180 flights, 94% of those scheduled, with American Airlines canceling 100% of their 100 flights out of Massachusetts, according to FlightAware. All flights with United, Southwest, Jazz, Frontier, Envoy Air, Japan Airlines and SkyWest have already been canceled as well.
Logan Airport currently has the most cancelations for departures and arrivals on Saturday across the country, with 217, 67% of flights leaving the airport canceled by airlines and 192 flights or 59% of arrivals canceled. There are no delays.
At Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, 64 flights have already been canceled for Saturday. Among these include all 20 flights with Southwest, all 14 flights with PSA Airlines, eight flights with American Airlines, all eight United flights, all six Mesa flights, four Envoy Air flights and two flights with Frontier.
JetBlue put out a statement telling customers that they will waive or cancel fees and fare differences for customers traveling Friday and Saturday in certain cities due to the winter weather. Cities include Boston, Hartford, New York, Providence, Washington, D.C. and Worcester.
Delta made a similar offer to its customers traveling the east coast this weekend.
“When rebooked travel occurs on or before February 1, 2022 in the same cabin of service as originally booked, the fare difference will be waived,” the airline wrote.
United, Southwest and American Airlines are also waiving fees for flight changes.
“The change fee and any difference in fare will be waived for United flights departing on or before January 30, 2022, as long as travel is rescheduled in the originally ticketed cabin (any fare class) and between the same cities as originally ticketed,” United said. Customers can rebook between now and Feb. 2.
