Moscow (dpa) - Russia and the Czech Republic are temporarily reallowing certain flights into each other's airspace amid a dispute about flyover rights, the Czech side said on Tuesday.
The Czech Transport Ministry blamed the dispute on the Russian side, saying Czech national carrier Czech Airlines had been denied permission to fly over Siberia for flights between Prague and Seoul.
"The Czech side does not intend to block the air traffic between the two countries, but it must defend legitimate interests of its air carriers," the Czech Transport Ministry said in a statement.
Russian national airline Aeroflot said it had been forced to cancel certain flights between Moscow and Prague amid the dispute.
Flights are being reallowed until Sunday while negotiations are under way, the Czech Transport Ministry and Russian state media reported.
