For the first time since the companies merged nearly five years ago, flight attendants from American Airlines and US Airways can begin working the same flights together beginning Monday, marking one of the final major milestones in the two carriers' integration.
It's the culmination of years of behind-the-scenes technical work to prepare the company's scheduling, bidding and other systems to bring the two workforces together under the terms of their collective bargaining agreement struck shortly after the merger.
