Salt Lake City -- A Southwest Airlines flight caught fire in midair on Monday and was forced to make an emergency landing.
The flight, bound for Los Angeles, left the gate in Salt Lake City at about 6:40 a.m. Monday, according to CNN. It landed back in Salt Lake City at about 7:20 a.m.
The airline described the incident as a "performance issue" in the right engine, according to ABC News.
