Aircraft Propeller Service, LLC (APS) Names Mauricio Mazzini Director of Quality

In this new role, Mazzini will be responsible for the company’s quality management system, as well as FAA, EASA, ISO9001 and AS9100 certifications.

Aircraft Propeller Service, LLC, one of the world’s leading commercial aircraft propeller Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organizations, announced the appointment of Mauricio Mazzini as Director of Quality. In this new role, Mazzini will be responsible for the company’s quality management system, as well as FAA, EASA, ISO9001 and AS9100 certifications. Additionally, he will be directly involved in managing supplier audits, training, evaluation and qualification programs, aeronautical and quality certifications, customer audits and aviation authorities. His role will extend to other areas of the company’s operations, including: customer support, engineering and logistics to ensure optimum compliance with aircraft and statutory requirements.

For his new position, Mazzini will be relocating to APS’ Lake Zurich, IL headquarters from the APS Brazil facility where he was based for four years. While at APS Brazil, he was responsible for coordinating the company’s quality assurance system in a standard recognized by several Brazilian and foreign entities. Among his major achievements was assisting in obtaining the company’s AS9100 D certification and also facilitating APS’ excellent results in both customers’ and authorities’ audits.

Prior to joining APS, Mazzini served in a variety of roles with prominent aviation entities, including: Quality Assurance Manager with Aeross – Manutenção Aeronáutica (Barueri/SP), Quality Leader with UTC Aerospace System Brazil (Atibaia/SP), Quality Manager with TAF Airlines (Fortaleza/CE), Quality Leader with GOL Airlines (Säo Paulo/SP), and Maintenance Coordinator with Transbrasil S/A Airlines (Guarulhos/SP).

In addition to his higher education and degrees in Production Engineering at Unianchieta and Quality Management at Uninove, Mazzini’s professional credentials include his role as a Maintenance Instructor for the IAC-National Civil Authority (ANAC), Quality Auditor for the Brazilian Technical Standard Organization (ABNT) and Aerospace Technical Center (CTA), as well as an Air Safety Representative for the CENIPA (Brazilian Air Force). He has worked extensively in quality control related areas ranging from Lean Systems and quality tools and process to MRO, T/S, logistics, engineering, to experience in the development of quality control processes, procedures, documentation and manuals.
