Aerometals Receives FAA PMA for Oil Cooler Impeller using Modern Manufacturing

March 6, 2017
Eligible for installation on the MDHI 369D/E/FF/500N and all variants of the Airbus Helicopters BK117 (H145).
Aftermarket innovator Aerometals has received FAA PMA approval for a replacement design of the Oil Cooler Impeller (P/N A26633-1), which is eligible for installation on the MDHI 369D/E/FF/500N and all variants of the Airbus Helicopters BK117 (H145).  By replacing the legacy 21 piece soldered construction method being used on the OEM impeller with 5-axis CNC milled construction, the inherently weak impeller fin joints have been replaced with a one piece design.  This superior product strength addressed the historical joint cracking failure mode of the OEM oil cooler impeller.  This new Aerometals 5-axis machined, single piece construction, OEM interchangeable product is now available at a substantially reduced price versus the equivalent OEM part.
Aerometals will again be exhibiting at the upcoming Helicopter Association International (HAI) Heli-Expo in Dallas, Texas, March 7-9, 2017, booth #9731.  Both the single piece Aerometals impeller and the original equipment impeller can be seen on display at the booth.
