Louisville, KY (February 28, 2016) –– Genesys Aerosystems announced today that it has shipped its 600th Helicopter Stability Augmentation System (HeliSAS) and autopilot system. The milestone system was shipped to Robinson Helicopter for installation on a new R66 turbine.

“HeliSAS has seen tremendous acceptance since we started shipping the systems in 2011,” Jamie Luster, Director of Sales and Marketing for Genesys Aerosystems said. “Today, while we are celebrating the shipment of our 600th HeliSAS Helicopter Stability Augmentation System and Autopilot, we are also proud that there are another 100 systems currently on order by helicopter owner/operators around the world.”

“Of course much of our success is do to the wonderful support we have received from our OEM customers and major installation shops,” she said. “In particular we’d like to thank Air Medical Group Holdings, PHI Air Medical Group, Metro Aviation, AAI Corporation and, of course, Robinson Helicopters.”

“They are the ones that are in direct contact with customers and pilots and it’s through their efforts that today so many pilots have the added safety benefits that only HeliSAS can provide,” Ms. Luster said.

She stated that an additional reason for the rapid growth of the HeliSAS system is Genesys Aerosystems’ active and ongoing expansion of approvals from the FAA, EASA and other international aviation organizations. HeliSAS is currently approved for installation aboard a growing list of light- to medium-helicopters including the Airbus (Eurocopter) EC130 and AS350-series, the Bell 206B, 206L and 407 models, and the Robinson R44 and R66. Genesys plans to add at least three more helicopter models to its list in 2016.

“Our goal is to make the HeliSAS available to pilots flying all current types of Part 27 category helicopters,” she said. “It’s much more than a business strategy to us. We see, and we feel the industry agrees, that HeliSAS is a tremendous contributor to increasing the safety of single-pilot helicopter operations. It’s like having a qualified co-pilot that only weighs 15 pounds.”

About the HeliSAS Helicopter Stability Augmentation System and Autopilot

HeliSAS sets a new standard for helicopter safety and productivity. With features like stability augmentation, the system dramatically reduces pilot workload while providing precise control during all phases of flight regardless of wind conditions or shifts in the helicopter’s weight. In addition, the HeliSAS attitude stabilization and force feel features enhance the helicopter’s handling characteristics to mitigate inadvertent cyclic control inputs that could result in dangerous attitudes or loss of control.
