GKN Aerospace Certified for Repair and Overhaul of Transparencies for Chinese Customers
GKN Aerospace today announces that it has received certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to perform repair and overhaul of transparencies (windshields and cabin windows) for Chinese customers. The approval was granted after an in-depth audit of GKN’s 324,000 square feet Garden Grove facility. This FAA and EASA certified facility for transparencies includes a specialized repair station for windshields and cabin windows of major customers like Airbus, Boeing and Saab. The new CAAC certification further strengthens the position of GKN Aerospace in the transparencies market.
John Kochel, Director of Aftermarket Programs, Transparency Systems says: “With this endorsement of CAAC, we can offer our Chinese customers cost effective repair and overhaul solutions for civil aircraft transparencies. The aerospace industry in China is growing rapidly and we welcome the opportunity to expand our customer base.”
