Feb. 12, 2012
The last two years it has constantly been focusing on enhancing capabilities through accreditations and services to make the company a one-stop shop for all aircraft maintenance work.

New Delhi, Feb 10, 2012: Air Works India Engineering Pvt Ltd, India’s leading third party MRO has achieved another milestone by becoming the first independent General Aviation MRO to obtain EASA Part 145 approval in its Delhi Facility. EASA certification is globally recognized and is a benchmark for aviation safety standards.

Air Works, over the past two years, has constantly been focusing on enhancing capabilities through accreditations and services to make the company a one-stop shop for all aircraft maintenance work.

This certification supplements EASA approvals already held by the Air Works facility in Hosur, where it maintains Airbus A320 family, Boeing 737 Classic/NG series and ATR 42/72 series aircraft and by SAAW, Air Works joint venture with Scandinavian Avionics which has an EASA approved avionics shop in Delhi.

Commenting on the occasion, Nick White, Vice President, General Aviation, who led this effort, said “I cannot overstate the importance of this achievement as it represents a new benchmark for Indian General Aviation and makes it ever harder for the competition to replicate our business. We are undoubtedly the premier provider of maintenance services to the General Aviation community in India and this just reinforces that message. It opens our Delhi Hangar doors to carrying out maintenance on European registered aircraft and releasing them to service. This beginning will allow us to release Hawker 750-900XP family aircraft to European operators but it is just the beginning as we will quickly add additional aircraft types.”

Echoing the sentiments, Vivek Gour, Managing Director, Air Works said; “This certification recognizes our world class facilities and is definitely a huge achievement and recognition of our contribution to the Indian MRO industry. We are proud to have received this certification and believe it will provide further impetus to the growth of general aviation business for the company and the industry as a whole”.
