Paris, Amstelveen, 27 June 2016 - AFI KLM E&M and SunExpress Deutschland, a subsidiary of SunExpress, have announced the signing of a long-term "Power by the Hour" (PBH) contract covering the CF6-80E1 engines equipping the SunExpress Deutschland's A330s. In addition to engine maintenance, the contract also covers services in connection with engine availability and on-wing support.First-time cooperation
The contract marks the first time the two companies have directly cooperated on engine maintenance. In addition to the competitive contract pricing, SunExpress Deutschland was won over by AFI KLM E&M's dual technical and operational expertise on the CF6-80E1 product, developed for the benefit of both its customers and its parent airlines, AIR FRANCE and KLM.
Michael Zeuner, Post Holder Maintenance of SunExpress Deutschland, pointing out the importance of the contract signed with AFI KLM E&M, stated: "The fact that AFI KLM E&M is part of an airline group that itself operates CF6-80E1s and has been maintaining them for many years is for us a reassuring guarantee of quality and reliability. AFI KLM E&M capabilities mean that it can guarantee the availability of our fleet by providing spare engines, which is also a source of peace of mind for us."Romain Helmer, VP Sales Europe & Key Accounts AFI KLM E&M, emphasized his "satisfaction at being able to include SunExpress among our clients. We will do our utmost to demonstrate to this dynamic, young airline that we are worthy of their trust by delivering high level support services."About SunExpress
