FedEx Jet Crash-Lands at Chattanooga Airport Late Wednesday Evening
Oct. 5—A Fedex 757 jet airplane crash-landed at the Chattanooga Airport late Wednesday evening, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.
It was reported at At 11:04 p.m. that a Fedex 757 was on its final approach to the airport with landing gear failure. Personnel from the fire department, Chattanooga Police Department and Hamilton County EMS quickly staged in position at the airport and waited as the aircraft circled before making its final descent, the news release stated.
The plane crash landed, skidded off the end of the runway and came to a stop between the runway and Jubilee Drive in the safety area, according to the news release.
There was no fire, only smoke from the engines, and all three people on the aircraft survived, the release stated.
