Baggage Cart Sucked into Plane Engine During Snowstorm at Chicago Airport, Video Shows
An airplane taxiing on the runway at Chicago O’Hare Airport crashed into several baggage carts during a snowstorm, video shows.
As the China Airlines cargo plane collides with the carts, at least one gets sucked into an engine and a plume of smoke or debris appears to shoot out the back.
The Chicago Fire Department responded to the incident, which happened around 6:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, WGN reported. Nobody was injured, but one of the engines was damaged, according to the outlet.
Around the time of the crash, the National Weather Service was reporting “intense lake effect snow” in the area, bringing in 1-2 inches of snow per hour.
The jet had arrived from Anchorage, Alaska, at 5:10 a.m., China Airlines told TV station WLS. It said heavy snow and slick conditions caused the accident.
