Two American Airlines flights made emergency landings within minutes of each other at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport early Monday morning, the Fort Worth-based airline says.

Investigators are also looking into a wing flap malfunction on Southwest Airlines Flight 1704. The flight went to nearby LAX because the airport has a longer runway and a maintenance base where the plane can be serviced.
