BRIEF: GoAir Appoints Girish Nair as Chief Commercial Officer

Oct. 23--MUMBAI -- Go Airlines (India) Ltd, which runs low-fare airline GoAir, said on Wednesday that it has appointed Girish Nair as chief commercial officer with effect from 7 October

Nair's last assignment was as assistant vice-president, head of marketing and aviation contracts, Bangalore International Airport Ltd, where his primary focus was business development and formulating marketing strategy for the airport operator.

Nair has 18 years of experience in sectors such as media, information technology and aviation. He has been working in the aviation sector from the past 13 years with a focus on brand management, marketing strategy and business development, GoAir said in a statement.

In September, Nair's predecessor Suraj Sundaram quit, amidst series of exits by top executives in the Wadia-group promoted airline.
