December 6, 2016 -- The National Aircraft Resale Association’s (NARA) commitment to the future of Business Aviation continues with a final push to reach its scholarship fundraising goal of $100,000 by the end of this year. Currently, the tally of donations stands at $72,000, including more than $50,000 that came from the ScholarShave event that occurred at last month’s NBAA annual convention. Business Aviation colleagues and friends throughout the industry can still donate and help the NARA team reach $100,000 in scholarship funds for the next generation of aviation professionals. To make a donation now (in any denomination), and to watch the time-lapse video of the ScholarShave event, simply go to www.NARAaircraft.com/scholarship.

“This is the season of giving and why not give back to our own aviation community by providing more young people a chance to attend college and become the next generation of business aviation professionals,” commented Johnny Foster, NARA Chairman, and President, and CEO of OGARAJETS. “We are all aware of the significant hurdle that college tuition can be for many young people and their families. And I believe NOW is the time to make a difference by helping more young people get an education in aviation before we lose them to other industries. All of us at NARA have heightened our focus this year on the next generation with the goal of raising $100,000 for the NARA Business Aviation Scholarship. I am confident that the good people in our industry will help us meet this goal by making a donation before December 31st,” added Foster.

Earlier this year $20,000 was raised from a live auction and other individual contributions, along with $52,000 coming from donations generated by the ScholarShave fundraiser. The shaving of Johnny Foster’s head and beard was a dare that some NARA Members issued to the NARA Chairman, during their spring meeting. They fulfilled their promise with a generous donation and Foster demonstrated his dedication to the worthwhile cause by shaving his beard and head at the NBAA convention at the NARA Chalet.

The NARA Business Aviation Scholarship program was established in 2014 for university students seeking a career in Business Aviation. The scholarship winners are chosen from applicants that are full-time graduate and undergraduate students majoring in Corporate Aviation Management, Aerodynamics, Aircraft Systems, Aviation Safety, Finance, Business Marketing, Economics and studies that relate to Aviation Business and Management.
