Plane Crash in Eastern Ohio Kills Former Zane State College President
ZANESVILLE, Ohio — A former president of Zane State College was killed Tuesday afternoon when the small plane he was piloting crashed shortly after takeoff, according to reports.
The community college in Zanesville confirmed the death of Paul Brown, 74, in a post on Facebook. Brown was the president of the college from 2004 to 2015.
The State Highway Patrol tells the Newark Advocate that the crash was reported at about 1:40 p.m. Brown was the only person on board the 2005 Cessna Skylane 182-T plane, which crashed into a wooded area just minutes after taking off from Heath Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the crash, according to reports.
