Fatima Najeeb Khan is a passionate aviation maintenance professional with an extensive background in AMT education and training.
Khan says, “I’ve always believed that aircraft maintenance is more than keeping machines flying—it’s about shaping the people who make it happen.”
She continues, “My journey began with an avionics-focused AME course and a hands-on traineeship with Air Blue, and has since taken me across industry, academia and outreach. With an MSc in Aerospace Engineering (Distinction) and a BEng (Hons) in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, I now work at the intersection of technical training, curriculum design and student mentorship.”
This journey has resulted in the creation of Edarch Labs, which Khan describes as “an aviation education platform dedicated to Part-66 module preparation, regulatory guidance, and CV writing services.”
Khan shares, “Founding Edarch Labs is my proudest accomplishment—it began as a solo effort and is now growing into a trusted support system for aspiring AMTs.”
She continues, “I'm also proud of my role in national curriculum reform for aircraft maintenance education in Pakistan, where I serve as the only woman on the National Curriculum Review Committee. Leading the accreditation of a BSc program and creating outreach through the Young Eagles initiative are equally meaningful milestones.”
“Additionally, I take great pride in being part of the female aviation community under the umbrella of AWAM Pakistan, where I continue to support and advocate for greater representation and mentorship opportunities for women in the field,” Khan says.
Khan emphasizes her pride in being a part of the aviation industry, stating, “Aviation is a dynamic blend of discipline, innovation and global impact. It challenges you to stay sharp, think systemically, and act with precision. But beyond the machines, I’m drawn to the people—the learners, the professionals and the dreamers who make flight possible. It’s a community I’m proud to contribute to.”
To aspiring professionals in aviation maintenance Fatima advises, “Start with curiosity and stay committed to lifelong learning. Build strong fundamentals, ask questions and don’t be afraid to take unconventional paths. Find mentors, seek feedback and remember that your growth is as much about mindset as it is about skills. And if you don’t see someone like you in the room—be the first.”
