Africa business aircraft group unleashes its own business aviation association AfBAA
The African business aircraft group of people has unleashed the African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) in order to elevate safety and operational qualities plus to craft a distinctive tone to apply pressure on the regulators of the continent."Africa's business aviation community will have a unified voice to relay its importance to the continent's drive for growth and prosperity" stated Tarek Ragheb, the AfBAA s founding chairman during the formal inauguration of the entity. Ragheb was also instrumental in the development of the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA).He has stated that the purpose is to develop AfBAA into a renowned and esteemed asset, which is endorsed by the governments, their relevant civil aviation officials, and enterprises across the African continent.The newly crafted organization is to submit request to be the member of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), the umbrella organization of the business aviation group.Not any single group has so far served Africa, but it got services from two regional organizations.The previous president of the US National Business Aviation Association Jack Olcott is playing the role of a consultant for the establishment of the association. "We don't see the African Business Aviation Association as competition with other groups, but rather as a collaboration," Olcott opined.The AfBAA has 13 of a 15-member board in position. The members, covering all corners of the continent, include manufacturers, operators and merchants."It is an exciting moment for Africa's business aviation" stated board member Alcinda Pereira from Angolan FBO Bestfly.
