We all know that ground support equipment is essential to efficient ground handling operations. But choosing how much money to allocate to your GSE budget is not always an easy decision.

We all know that ground support equipment is essential to efficient ground handling operations. But choosing how much money to allocate to your GSE budget is not always an easy decision.

In a recent purchasing study conducted by Ground Support Worldwide, more than 40 percent of those surveyed said they intend to spend less than $249,999 on GSE in 2017.

Approximately 15 percent of those surveyed forecasted a 2017 GSE budget of $250,000-$499,999; roughly 12 percent budgeted $1,000,000-$2,499,999; and more than 10 percent allocated $500,000-$999,999.

What’s more, a little more than 5 percent of those surveyed forecasted an annual GSE budget in excess of $50,000,000.

This data suggests a variety of operations – in both size and service requirements. A small FBO may only require a few pieces of equipment while a ground handler for an airline at a major hub may need a vast GSE fleet.

Consider the size of your operation. Are you spending enough money annually on your GSE fleet to keep your operation running efficiently?
