City of Brownsville, Texas, Announces New Assistant Director of Airport

In Texas, the City of Brownsville has named Christopher Hopkins, C.M. Assistant Director of Airport for Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO). In this position, Hopkins will manage airside, landside, security, ground transportation and terminal operations for the airport. 

Hopkins brings more than 22 years of industry experience in aviation, security, business finance, contract negotiations and public safety. Most recently, he worked for Aviation Events & Consulting, a firm specializing in lease negotiations and business development of airport space. Previously, Hopkins was VP of Aviation & Government Services for HSS; chief business officer and chief operating officer for Falken Dynamix Corporation; and chief operating officer for Wings Over the Rockies – Exploration of Flight.

Hopkins earned his bachelor’s degree in Accountancy/Criminology/International Studies from the University of South Florida. He also received a bachelor’s degree in Aviation/Aerospace & Airport Management from Metropolitan State University. He is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives and is a private pilot.
