Pond and its joint venture partner Frankfurt-Short-Bruza Associates (FSB-Pond) will support the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s efforts to beddown its newest stealth bomber, the B-21 Raider. The shared $200 million capacity, 7-year contract will be executed as part of an on-call contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Kansas City District.

Through this strategic partnership, FSB-Pond will provide Architecture-Engineering Design services such as planning, design, and construction administration services for the B-21 Beddown. Bases selected for the new mission include Ellsworth Air Force Base (AFB), South Dakota; Dyess AFB, Texas; and Whiteman AFB, Missouri.

“As specialists in aircraft beddown programs, we have a true passion for designing the various facilities that are essential to effectively maintaining and operating these highly advanced aircraft,” said Gene O. Brown, PE, LEED AP BD+C, FSB’s Project Manager & Director of Federal Programs. “This long-awaited program is a critical component of the Air Force’s strategic deterrence capability, and we are proud to play a role in advancing this initiative.”

“FSB-Pond brings an outstanding team of architects, engineers and planners with a long history of providing exceptional design services supporting beddown of the Air Force’s newest aircraft, including the F-35 Lightning II and the KC-46A Pegasus,” said Pond’s Lead Program Manager Chris Farnie, PE, LEED AP. “We look forward to continuing that tradition with the B-21 Raider while supporting USACE, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, and our mission partners at each of the main operating bases.”
