A series of open portable shelf trucks marketed under the Hodge brand is part of the line of nonpowered material handling equipment offered by The Durham Manufacturing Co. Basic design of the trucks consists of four fixed 14-gauge steel shelves, with 14-inch clearance between them, mounted within a three-sided frame of 1-inch diameter tubing and 1/2-inch diameter steel rods. The top two shelves are slanted, 1 inch front to rear, to permit secure placement of goods without the danger of slippage during movement. The third shelf is level and the bottom shelf is mounted on four 6-inch by 2-inch phenolic, bolt-on swivel casters for easy maneuverability in narrow aisles and around tight corners. Eight different models are available ranging in size from 36 inches wide by 24 inches deep to 72 inches wide and 36 inches deep. Height of all models is 61 inches.
