From the groundbreaking in late 2022 through early 2026, the authority’s focus was firmly on getting the new Mobile International Airport Terminal, a parking deck and other related facilities ready to open.
$3.75 billion of the plan is earmarked for underground tunnels that would do away with the "People Mover" vehicles, which shuttle passengers between the terminal and gates across the tarmac.
