The summer fun continues at Denver International Airport (DEN) on July 21 with a free full-day event celebrating Colorado’s Western heritage with a modern twist. DEN invites those who are traveling to come early and others who live in the Denver metro area to hop on the train and spend some time enjoying free, family-friendly activities on the airport’s new stunning open-air plaza.

The “Spirit of Colorado,” which will take place on the airport’s plaza from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., will include a day of music, stuntmen, gold mining activities for kids, tastings from Colorado-based Old Town Distilling Co., rides on a mechanical bull, a Western-themed photo booth, trick ropers, games and more.

Enjoy live music all day from Colorado musicians Rocky Mountain Bluegrass, Eric Lane and Diesel Style, along with raffle items that include rodeo tickets to Cheyenne Frontier Days. A cash bar and food will be available for purchase.

The plaza is located pre-security, is open to the public and is accessible just steps from the new University of Colorado A Line station at DEN (tickets are $9 and good for multiple trips during the same business day), or a short walk from the airport parking garages ($3/hour).
