Swissport Ends 2006 with Several Market Successes

Swissport International, the world’s leading provider of ground services to the aviation industry, has secured attractive new business in Europe, Africa, Asia and the USA amounting to some 40 000 additional flights a year in the last few weeks of 2006.

Swissport International, the world’s leading provider of ground services to the aviation industry, has secured attractive new business in Europe, Africa, Asia and the USA amounting to some 40 000 additional flights a year in the last few weeks of 2006. These latest successes follow three quarters of strong business performance earlier in the year, as the continuing liberalisation of the ground handling sector has provided airlines with new options and Swissport with opportunities for further growth.

Swissport is pleased to report favourable business trends in all its regions and units. The intensive efforts which the Swissport Group has made over the past few months have now delivered a series of substantial market successes and multi-year contractual agreements at all levels which show every sign of continuing into early 2007:

Algeria (1000 flights a year)

The opening-up of the Algerian market has enabled Swissport to become the first non-local company to secure new ground services business. Contractual agreements with five airlines are about to be signed with a starting date between mid and end of January 2007.

Spain (36’000 flights a year)

Swissport-Menzies is taking full advantage of its newly-acquired licences, and is delighted to have concluded commercial agreements with:

- Ryanair in Madrid, since November 22, 2006

- easyJet, in Murcia since December 21, 2006 , and in Madrid from February 11, 2007

- Lufthansa/SWISS in Madrid, from February 11, 2007

- Mytravel in Arrecife, from March 5, 2007

- XL Leisure Group in Arrecife and Murcia, from March 5, 2007

- the Condor Group at different stations, in February 2007

- Air Berlin in Madrid from February 11, 2007 and in Arrecife from March 5, 2007

- Air Malta at different stations and with different dates in 2007

- Austrian Airlines at different stations and with different dates in 2007

- First Choice in Arrecife from March 5, 2007, in Alicante from Februray 22, 2007 and in Almeria from February 26, 2007

- Flybe in Murcia since December 21, 2006 and in Alicante from February 22, 2007

- Skyservices in Arrecife from March 5, 2007 The USA (2’500 flights a year)

Having secured access to the ramp services market in Boston, Swissport has now won the business of:

- Lufthansa/SWISS in Boston, from February 15, 2007

- Lufthansa in Houston, from February 15, 2007.

Singapore (500 flights a year)

Swissport is delighted to have gained a further airline customer:

- Transasia in Singapore, since December 11, 2006.

The new business acquired over the last few weeks amounts to some 40 000 flights a year, and is sure to have a positive impact on the Swissport Group’s performance in 2007.
