Greece Boosts Security at British Embassy, Airports, Subways
ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- Greek police boosted security Thursday at the British Embassy, affiliated organizations and the country's airports and subways following the terrorist attacks in London.
Greek police minister George Voulgarakis offered to send officers skilled in such incidents to Britain if ''deemed necessary.''
Greece has a highly trained anti-terrorist and bomb squad that was put together for last year's Olympics.
Athens spent an unprecedented euro1.25 billion(US$1.5 billion) on Olympic security last year - the first summer games held since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks - and received regular security advice from several countries, including Britain.
