Menzies South Africa Wins New Customer
The Menzies South Africa team has successfully won the contract for full handling for Fastjet in Johannesburg (JNB).
Menzies commenced Fastjet handling operations on June 6, turning around their first flight from JNB to Harare in Zimbabwe.
Fastjet operates 29 turns a week at JNB, with ambition to grow this market later in the year. Fastjet are a low-cost carrier operating throughout southern Africa, with a philosophy to pioneer affordable and reliable air travel throughout the region.
Ian van Rooyen, VP South Africa and Namibia, said: “We are really pleased to have secured this contract and confident that Fastjet will continue to grow from strength to strength. Under the guidance of Passenger Services Manager Ronald Kanyane, we successfully implemented our chosen departure control system, Ink DCS, which automates and monitors our operations, helping us to ensure we provide excellent service from touchdown to takeoff at JNB.”
