3-Blade Propeller for Piper Pa-28 Dakota Now FAA certified

Atting, September 2020 - MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the FAA STC SA04463NY for the next generation composite 3-blade propeller MTV-9-B/198-52 on the Piper PA-28-236 Dakota with the engine IO-540-J3A5D. This installation ist already certified by EASA STC 10062339.

According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht the installation features the following advantages:

- Enhanced climb performance by approx. 5 % (MTOW, SL, ISA conditions)

- Enhanced cruise performance by 2 to 3 kts (MTOW, ISA conditions)

- Unlimited blade life

- Fullfills the highest noise requirements for unlimited flying

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD.

They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on stainless steel leading edges for best erosion protection of the blades.

The high performance, light weight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels and hovercraft. MT-Propellers can be developed for nearly every aircraft type from motor gliders to regional airliners.

Fulfilling the highest certification requirements they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft.
