Aircraft Propeller Service, LLC (APS, www.aircraftpropeller.com, Lake Zurich, IL), one of the world’s leading commercial propeller Maintenance Repair Organizations (MROs), is building on its relationship with Airbus, having recently been awarded a five-year contract to service the 568F propeller blades on its EADS CASA C-295, a twin-turboprop tactical military transport aircraft, currently manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space in Spain. APS is the only MRO in the Americas and Asia with full 568F propeller blade capabilities to include compression wrap during major inspections. The 568F six-blade electronic control composite propeller system is manufactured by UTC Aerospace Systems. APS is a UTACS-licensed repair facility for IATA 1 and 3 (Americas and Asia).

In making the announcement, APS President and CEO Dan Colbert stated, “Our performance in the maintenance and repair of the 568F blade has been noticed by the industry. The increasing trust aerospace industry leaders like Airbus have placed in us is evidence that meeting the market’s needs with consistently high quality, cost-competitive and timely service is rewarded. We will continue to advance our mission of providing exceptional service, value and fast turnaround on behalf of Airbus and all of our valued customers.”

It was the third quarter of 2015 when APS announced that it had licensed 568F Propeller System Blade Compression Wrap technology, making it the first third-party MRO licensed to perform any OEM-proprietary repairs and inspections involving the compression wrap processes. Since that time, the company’s capabilities have continued to grow and its ability to serve as a true one-stop shop for commercial turboprop propeller systems, the 568F and the ATR family of aircraft fully-realized.

The 568F is a Kevlar Shell/Graphic Spar six blade propeller. It is used on ATR’s latest generation turboprop aircraft, including the ATR42-500/600 and ATR72-500/600. The aircraft is widely-recognized as one of the most efficient and economical options for regional airlines worldwide.
