Aircenter, Inc. Announces New STC to Provide Electric Air Conditioning System for Diamond DA 42 NG Series Aircraft Operators
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – July 21, 2015 – Aircenter, Inc., working in collaboration with StandardAero’s Springfield, Illinois’ in-house Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) delegation, has obtained Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval for a new, electrically driven air conditioning system for the Diamond DA 42 NG series of aircraft. In addition and for the first time ever, this air conditioning system is now also available for field retrofits to Diamond DA 42 Twin Star aircraft.
The new system is rated at 16,500 BTU and weighs only 52 pounds. It is located in the aircraft’s rear baggage compartment extension and can also be run on the ground -- prior to engine start -- with the use of a ground power unit. This new system uses only high-efficiency components for superior performance with extra low compressor vibration and noise. Moreover, the evaporator utilizes a three-speed blower fan for quiet operation, along with a replaceable air filter.
“Our Drive Motor provides reliable performance, low maintenance and long TBO, even when operated under harsh conditions and environments.” said Gary Gadberry, President/CEO of Aircenter, Inc. “Our condensing coil is designed for efficient operation and is located remotely with separate powered airflow. We are delighted to offer these improvements in both comfort and efficiency to Diamond aircraft operators.”
The STC was issued in April, 2015 and can now be installed at Premier Aircraft Sales in Fort Lauderdale, Florida or at any authorized repair station.
