STG Aerospace Announces Another Record Sales Year

Feb. 3, 2012

STG Aerospace has announced another year of record sales of its market-leading emergency exit lighting system. Sales of SafTGlo grew by 25 per cent in 2011, following growth of 28 per cent in 2010.

2011 saw continuing strong sales to existing customers bolstered by substantial new client orders and considerable interest in innovative product developments.

Major new deals in 2011 included STG’s largest-ever single order from the USA’s biggest low-cost carrier, Southwest Airlines, and sales to Monarch Airways and Thai International Airways. Success was further fuelled by the company’s relationships with Boeing and Embraer as original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for both companies. 2011 also saw the launch of the latest addition to the SafTGlo range, PatternMatch.

Richard Moore, chief executive at STG Aerospace, said: “Year on year we are proving that increased safety and through-life cost savings can go hand in hand. Record sales ahead of our competitors show that airlines are continuing to turn to 100% reliable, cost-effective and easy-to-install PL systems.”

SafTGlo is popular among carriers worldwide because of the system’s ability to function independently of batteries and without wires or bulbs – simultaneously ‘storing’ and emitting high visibility light to provide emergency exit guidance for up to 16 hours in complete darkness after only a short period of ‘charging’ with normal cabin lights.  The system offers a significant cost saving by virtually eliminating the need for maintenance. It therefore offers a reliable and cost-effective alternative to conventional electrical emergency cabin lighting systems.
