POSITION TITLE: Retail Sales Representative

HOURS: Must be able to work flexible hours-Preferably available Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.

STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Pilot Shop Manager/Sales Floor Supervisor

OBJECTIVE: Greeting pilot shop customers and providing prompt, friendly and exceptional customer service.

GENERAL PHILOSOPHY: To build customer loyalty through service excellence in a work environment where the teammates enjoy their work because they have accepted responsibility for the success of the company.


Greet every customer upon arrival and when they leave, provide assistance in finding needed items and suggest additional items.

Assure accurate cash and charge card handling maintain no more than a discrepancy of $5.00 over or under in till.

Maintain store presentation by stocking new inventory, straightening stock displays, stocking all clothing and cleaning selling floor.

Ensure bins are labeled correctly and signage is accurate.

Ensure that daily and weekly sales goals are met.

Be aware of all items in inventory and the basic function of each item.

Advise parts specialists of merchandise needed to ensure we do not run out or low on stock items.

Assist in the training of new Hangar63 teammates as needed.

Inform manager of new product information and frequently requested products.

Answer telephone and assist in other store tasks as needed,

Maintain a clean, organized and pleasant department ensuring that all parts and equipment is in good condition and will operate safely.

Assist with inventory counts and actively take responsibility to prevent inventory shortage.

Maintain assigned area of responsibility by proper labeling, restocking and merchandising.

Conduct and communicate in a professional manner with all at all times.

Observe and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

Comply with all safety rules wear and use all appropriate safety equipment.


To be fully proficient in this position, teammates must acquire the following through on-the-job training:

A strong knowledge of Banyan's customers and service philosophy,

A strong knowledge of Banyan's vendors,

Knowledge of aircraft technologies and pilot supplies,

Strong customer relations skills over the phone and in person,

Complete knowledge and understanding of the Banyan Teammate Handbook,

A knowledge of the operation and care of all store equipment,

A knowledge of Ft. Lauderdale's Executive Airport, including the location of hangars, tie-downs, fuel farm, tower, U.S. Customs, and all other FBOs located at the airport,

Knowledge of the departments of the company, their function and their personnel,

Knowledge of responsibility for facility and security and all aspects of safety,

Knowledge of the computer system and software,

Knowledge of responsibility for:

1. Ordering of special order items

2. Shipping / Receiving


A high school diploma or the equivalent and a minimum of one year in retail sales. Must be able to work some weekends and at least 30 hours.
