April 30, 2019

Oshkosh Airport Products, LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation company, announced that it secured 14 individual contract awards from the United States Air Force to produce a total of 110 snow trucks that will be put into service at bases located around the world. The U.S. Air Force snow truck orders initiated in May 2018 with the first delivery planned for April 2019, and the remainder spanning through early 2020. Diversity in size, number of runways, environmental factors, and runway clearance regulations vary among bases throughout the world. Order fulfillment will differ based on the optimal snow truck product to respond to each location’s unique challenges but will be made up primarily of four innovative products.

“For more than 50 years, the Oshkosh Airport Products team has been proud to support the United States Air Force with products that meet their snow removal needs,” said Richard Voakes, Oshkosh Airport Products government and regional sales manager. “It’s an amazing feeling to know we can provide unparalleled reliability in our products that aid the brave men and women in service and the critical work they do each day.”

With each location incorporating a unique combination of products, the most prominent snow trucks making up the significant contracts with the U.S. Air Force include, but are not limited to, the Oshkosh H-Series Dual Engine Blower, Oshkosh H-Series Single Engine Blower, Oshkosh H-Series XF Front Mounted Broom, and Oshkosh H-Series Plow. The products feature custom chassis, excellent visibility, enhanced comfort, and proprietary vehicle technologies including Oshkosh ALL STEER, Command Zone, and road-proven transfer case with SmartShift.

From the United States to Germany, Korea and beyond, the U.S. Air Force bases across the globe continue to rely on Oshkosh Airport Products to produce snow trucks that clear and provide essential runway access, while combining increased visibility, comfort, innovative technology, and built-in safety.
