SafeSmart Access to Introduce New Level of Ramp Tidiness and Safety

Sept. 26, 2016

Los Angeles-based portable height access provider SafeSmart Access will be exhibiting their new and innovative chock and cone trolley and more at the International Airport GSE Expo in Las Vegas, October 18-20, 2016.

The trolley allows ground staff to avoid tripping hazards by providing a portable and robust place to keep wheel chocks as well as safety cones. And the unit can be maneuvered easily around the ramp without the need to engage large vehicles. SafeSmart Access’ Mark Johnston is excited to bring this and other new developments to the expo and MROs of the world.

“SafeSmart are committed to, and continue to increase our commitment to, improving safety on aviation ramps around the world. New products like this are a result of us working closely with MROs and ground crews to identify every opportunity possible to protect contractor welfare.”

And Mark sees these opportunities in every aviation facility he travels to. “The new chock and cone trolley is a good example. Although seemingly insignificant, we identified a large number of mechanics and technicians who had sustained injuries due to trips over smaller items such as these on the ground. And we saw that we could help speed up the loading and unloading of wheel chocks and safety cones by giving them dedicated infrastructure that can be easily manoeuvred without always having to drive a large utility vehicle around the tarmac.”

Early adopters of this product are already seeing benefits. “From our first customer of the chock and cone trolley, we are already hearing of increased efficiencies with time,” says Mark, “especially with maintenance turnaround times. It’s just another little piece in what SafeSmart are painting as the big safety picture for aviation ground support.”

SafeSmart Access will exhibit in Booth 207 at the International Airport GSE Expo.
