Italy to Reopen Airports on June 3

May 21, 2020

Rome (dpa) - Italy's airports will begin operating again on June 3, when national and international travel is allowed again, Transport Minister Paola De Micheli said on Wednesday, as cited by Italian news agencies.

The country had implemented severe travel restrictions in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Starting June 3, EU citizens will also be allowed to enter Italy without undergoing mandatory quarantine.

Several train connections within Italy have already resumed service this week.
