Delta to serve Chattanooga Airport after a gap of 17 years

From Thursday, Delta Air Lines is to restart mainline service between Chattanooga and Atlanta after a gap of almost 17 years. The service will be served by the airline with one of the biggest jets serving Chattanooga Airport. Way back in December 1995, Delta had stopped the mainline service and filled its routes with affiliate airlines like Atlantic Southeast Airlines. A Delta spokesman, Trebor Banstetter, stated that daily one 125-seat DC-9-50 will be offered between the cities. Delta will proceed with offering daily nine flights from Chattanooga to Atlanta and two daily to Detroit.
