FNT Software announced the appointment of Steve MacDiarmid as general manager in North America. As FNT continues to expand operations throughout the U.S., MacDiarmid will lead the company’s strategic business development and sales initiatives while expanding partner relationships within data center, telecommunications, enterprise, and airport industries.
Specializing in data center infrastructure management and cable management, the company’s FNT Command platform enables enterprise organizations to manage the complex hybrid infrastructures required to support automation and keep pace with the growing demand for digital services utilized by employees, partners and customers. FNT continues to drive automation and allow its customers to achieve operational efficiencies through its integrated data model that manages IT assets, services, and utilization, both on premise and in the cloud.

FNT is an important partner in the development of robotized data centers, where their technology solutions will help automate multiple processes and tasks in the future. FNT’s Command platform is an integral part of the project, which is focused on prototyping as well as innovating on new technology fields to make robotics tangible and improve data center operations efficiency. The goal is to leverage robotics to achieve zero-touch performance of such tasks as replacing or adding components, patching cables to establish connections between different components, and automatically tracking and recording changes of the infrastructure via connection to a smart documentation platform. Achieving this level of automation will free up technicians to focus on other business-critical initiatives within the data center.

MacDiarmid has more than 25 years of experience in international telecommunications and IT. Prior to joining FNT Software, MacDiarmid worked at Retarus as Director of Sales in Germany before advancing to President and CEO in North America. He has also held leadership positions at Telefónica, Teleconnect, Deutsche Telecom, and Hilti. Having lived in both Germany and the U.S., MacDiarmid is bilingual and conversant with both European and American cultures.
