Airlines Pushing Vacation Offers
With summer vacations round the corner, various airlines are getting ready to cater to the increasing demand of passenger traffic on various routes.
Due to intense competition in the sector, various airlines are opening new flights on new routes and are at the same time offering special schemes to the passengers.
According to travel agents in city while the Jet Airways has decided to start new flights for Indore, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh from Jaipur, other low fare airlines are offering coupon schemes to frequent fliers.
"Jet will be soon starting new flight from Jaipur to Indore, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh as there is a lot of passenger traffic on these routes and people prefer going to these places for holidaying," said a travel agent.
Special offers and discounts are also being offered to attract passengers. While Indigo has been giving 20 per cent discount on excess baggage, Jet Airways has been offering concessions to students and senior citizens, informed travel agents.
While Jet Konnect has been giving "youth fare concession" to the young people aged between 12 and 29 years.
"This is the time when people plan their summer holidays, schools and colleges are closed and families go on vacation to cooler places from the desert state. Therefore we need to cater to the growing demands and also attract the passengers," said an airline executive at Jaipur Airport.
Even national carrier AirIndia is also giving several discounts ahead of the holiday season.
Notably rising ATF has been resulting in increased passenger fares thereby pulling away the travellers even from low fare airlines.
