At airports, it is very common to see new paint lines being placed on an un-prepped pavement surface, as well as to see new layers of paint placed directly on top of older layers. By not prepping the surface first, the paint will typically flake, as you see at the beginning of this video, causing major FOD (Foreign Object Debris) hazards. This video shows the Stripe Hog SH8000 easily performing airport marking removal on 17 years of built-up paint. Within 15-20 minutes, depending on the conditions, this surface will be completely dry and properly prepared for brand new paint markings.
